The surrounding forests provide a great habitat for all types of plants and animal wildlife. It provides a safe haven for animals to live, reproduce, and eat.
The Islands of Palau are listed as a United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, World Heritage Site. This means that Palau is listed as a place of geographical significance, which results in an increased need for cultural and nature conservation that will hopefully lead to further preservation of this spectacular geographical paradise.
Luckily, the Palauan people take pride in their high environmental standards and this is why Palau remains so well intact, in relation to other tropical locations.
How can we help?
AWARENESS! It always helps to spread the word, and introduce the problems and their affects.
Palau's biggest problem is implementing consequences for those who aid in destruction. In order to make this place even better, Palau needs support in enforcing restrictions.
Further, Palau has a large amount of organizations that support and create protection areas on the island, but the amount is not as successful as an increase in the amount of people in each group would be.
